Advanced Road Design
 
As you may be aware, the ARD development team has spent most of last year developing the new PIPES module which will replace the current drainage/sewer module in ARD 2009. The new PIPES module provides interactive drainage and sewer design is due for release in July 2009. Click here for more information on ARD PIPES.

ARD 2010.00  is now available  on request.  This version of ARD will opeate in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010, but will have the old drainage/sewer module. If you would like ARD 2010.00, please email Daniel Parsons

We will be shipping to all Advanced Road Design subscription customers, the latest Advanced Road Design 2010 in July 2009 and this CD version will have the new PIPES module included.

Advanced Road Design in USA

Advanced Road Design is called "Corridor-EZY" in the U.S and Canada

Advanced Road Design Conference 2008 - ROMANIA

Following the success of the 2007 Advanced Road Design Conference hosted by MAXCAD International in Bucharest Romania, Dr Peter Boomfield will open the 2008 Conference on Tuesday 23rd September. Road Development Authority of Sri Lanka visits Melbourne

The Road Development Authority of Sri Lanka use AutoCAD Civil 3D and Advanced Road Design for highway design and reconstruction.

A team of three designers - Mr L.V.S. Weerakoon, Ms Agantha Kumari and Ms Begam Haseeba and Autodesk and CADApps Channel Partner Open Systems' Mr Sampath Ekanayake are spending a week at CADApps Melbourne Training Centre working with the CADApps Technical Team on a major design project.

AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 Drawing Template

The CADApps Technical Team has built an updated Australian Drawing Template for Civil 3D 2009 and 2008.

This drawing template has been completely re-written allowing for a complete overhaul of the layers used by the various styles.  The general philosophy used for layers in the template is one layer for the object, one layer for the labels for that object and one layer for the tables.  Within the object style definition the sub-components are set to use to objects layer and different colours/linetypes etc. to alter the display of the sub-components of the object.

The only exception to this philosophy is surfaces.  Each surface is created on a separate layer and the Design and Existing contours and contour labels are created on separate layers.

Due to the broad spectrum of varying survey codes, two sample Description Key Sets has been included, one for Alpha coding and one for Numeric coding.  A sample set of Point Style has also been included.

Copy the Drawing Template into the Civil 3D 2009 or 2008 Template folder on your computer which is, by default:

Where <username> is the users logon name and <C3D verison> is C3D 2008 or C3D 2009.

Road Reconstruction Design Tour of Australia and New Zealand

During April, the CADApps Technical Team traveled over 16,000 kilometres to present Civil 3D and Advanced Road Design to over 200 civil engineers and designers in Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland.
